With the establishment of the Aboriginal Human Resources Initiative and through forging a partnership with the Aboriginal community, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is committed to increasing the representation of Aboriginal people at all levels within our workforce.

As the province’s largest Rehabilitation and Long Term Care facility, Deer Lodge Centre provides many opportunities for challenging experiences and career growth. Conveniently located on Portage Avenue, only a short walk from Assiniboine Park, DLC inpatient and outpatient programming includes Rehabilitation, Respiratory, Mental Health, Chronic and Personal Care. As well, we maintain a proud 90-year tradition of serving Veterans and the military through inpatient and outpatient programs. New services being developed and operated at DLC are an Operational Stress Injuries Clinic. As an operating division of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Deer Lodge Centre serves as a centre of excellence in rehabilitation and long term care for the region and provides many regional support services.

The Centre’s motto of "Making Lives Better" applies to the staff as well as the patients and residents. Broad educational offerings, an internationally recognized library, on-site fitness facilities, and access to research support staff in their career and personal lives.
