Volunteer Profiles
Marjorie and Lynn C. Marjorie and Lynn are a mother and daughter team who began
to volunteer in November 1989. They chose
to volunteer at Deer Lodge Centre because
it's close to their home. They also have
a fondness for veterans as many family
members fought in WW1 and WW2 and have
benefited from services at Deer Lodge
Hospital. They began their volunteer activity
by assisting with bingo, outings, special
events and memorial services. 12 years
later, they continue to assist with bingo
programs on many units in the Centre,
volunteering 2 to 5 days per week. They
both enjoy their volunteer work because
they find it very rewarding to give back
to the community and to get to know our
residents. Marjorie and Lynn have also
established many long-lasting friendships
with residents, staff and other volunteers.
Lynn and Marjorie are one of many family
units that volunteer together, a growing
trend in Canada. Thank-you ladies for
your dedication to the Centre.
