Operational Stress Injury Clinic

Wait times and performance

As a publicly funded clinic, we are committed to accountability and effective performance. For this reason, we make data such as wait times and performance data available to the general public.

Wait times (updated 6 Nov 2007)

It is very important for us to deliver prompt service. Under normal conditions, we are able to reply in good time to referrals. At busier times, we assess referrals according to a priorization process, which we also send to all our referral sources.

We are currently managing referrals on a restricted priorities basis. However, we still reply to all referrals within 1-2 business days.

If you are inquiring about wait times for a case to be referred, the best answer can be had by sending in the referral and speaking to the intake nurse. Please see the information below for more details.

Wait times at the clinic currently vary substantially according to the needs of each situation. However, we are still ensuring that all 100% of referrals have access to supportive or ongoing treatment within a short time of referral.

Please note that we are taking action to reduce wait times. Clients with a clinical need will be priorized and should continue to be seen within a reasonable time.

Service Quality

The quality of the clinic's services is underpinned by our use of evidence-based programs, which means that we employ assessment and intervention methods that are substantiated in the scientific literature as the most reliable and effective of known methods. We also take part in the WRHA's accreditation process through the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation to ensure that our business processes meet or exceed current standards. A further major benefit of the clinic is our interdisciplinary model, which has been proven more effective than the use of single-clinician services.

Veterans Affairs Canada last conducted a customer satisfaction survey on its services. Below are our results from the 2006 survey:
