Auxiliary
Deer Lodge Centre Auxiliary represents all volunteers at
the Centre and works hard to promote the well-being of patients
and residents. For further information, please contact the
Manager of Volunteer Services. The office is located on the
main floor of the Lodge Building.
Barber and Hairdressing
These services are available within Deer Lodge Centre at
a reasonable cost.
Chad's Place
This friendly bar is located on the Mezzanine level of the
Tower Building overlooking Portage Avenue. It serves alcoholic
and non-alcoholic drinks to residents and family or friends
accompanying them. Prices are reasonable. Bar hours and number
of drinks served are limited.
Dancing Bear Gift Shop
Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekends
and some Holidays 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- The Gift Shop is operated completely by volunteers.
- All proceeds from the Gift Shop are used to purchase equipment
or items of comfort for the residents' and patients' use.
- No GST is charged on sales in the Gift Shop.
- The Gift Shop sells a large selection of items including
- Confectionnaries such as candy, pop drinks, chocolate bars
and potato chips
- Magazines, cards for all occassions, notebooks and address
books
- Toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, lotion and make-up
- Gift items such as jewellry, candles, vases, home decorations
and Ty Beanie Babies
Resident & Family Council
Getting involved in the Resident and Family Council is an
excellent way to play an active role in the Centre. It's an
opportunity to meet with other residents and families to discuss
issues. The Council meetings are held on the first Tuesday
of the month and helpl keep patients, residents and families
updated on activities at the Centre. The Council promotes
communication within the Centre and welcomes new ideas. A
Bill of Rights and Responsibilities is available on request.
